Leaders make strong start in Hong Kong

IRB Sevens series leaders New Zealand and nearest challengers Samoa and Fiji made high-scoring starts to the Cathay Pacific/Credit Suisse Hong Kong Sevens.

New Zealand ran in nine tries in a 59-5 win over spirited Chinese Taipei with Save Tokula helping himself to a brace, while Samoa started their bid for a third consecutive tournament win with a 40-12 triumph over Italy.
